The Call

Way back in 1976, a prophetess told me the following:

The Lord is going to take you to places you never dreamed possible. That which you are doing for Him now will grow into ministries you could not have imagined. Serve Him with all your heart and might.

At the time, I was in school and active in ministries such as SCA, YFC, Sunday School teaching, worship leading etc. After I left school, I always got involved wherever I could be of service.

Servicing my Heavenly Father and His people has always been a priority in my life.

Trust

Trust.  In this uncertain time, trust can become a sensitive issue.  Can we trust what the media is telling us?  Can we trust the word of world leaders and medical researchers?   Can we trust each other?  Can we trust ourselves to make good decisions?  Someone on the radio said:  “This virus is causing people to do silly things”.

In Job 39 : 11 & 12 our attention is drawn to a wild bull.  “A wild bull is very strong,  but can you trust him to do your work? Can you trust him to gather your grain and bring it to your threshing place?

I can see in my mind’s eye, a wild buffalo bull being harnessed under great objection and attached to a plough.  Jumping around, puffing and blowing. With every sting from the ploughman’s whip, the bull moves two or three steps forward and then returns to his wild objection of being tethered.   Imagine trying to yoke the wild buffalo bull to a trailer loaded with grain.  Surely the all grain will be tossed out over the field and will not reach the threshing floor, where it is required to be.
The wild bull cannot be trusted to do the work because it cannot be harnessed.
We need to learn to trust God and allow Him to harness us to His Will.  To allow Him to do His work through us, we need to be in His Will (harness) and to trust Him as the Ploughman.

Suggestion:  Take a few minutes to imagine the scenario above.  Tell your children or other family members a story about the wild bull. Help each one create a mental picture of this wild bull that does not trust the Ploughman.  You could ask the children to draw a picture of the bull.

Prayer:  Father God.  Today we want to submit ourselves to Your Will.  We ask You to harness-in every area of trust (or lack thereof) which we have in others, and in ourselves.  We redirect all trust into You our Ploughman.  We want to do your work successfully and to Your glory.  In Jesus Name. Amen.
